UNTITLED 03/31/16

Don’t tell me I’m beautiful or pretty for a black girl, tell me that you love the way my skin glows in the summer or that you think my curls bloom like flowers in the spring, or that when I talk it’s sounds like the birds singing their song on an early spring morning. But please don’t tell me I’m pretty or beautiful for a black girl because it’s not a compliment it’s an insult to all the unique things about me and my culture.
